On Saturday 21st May, 2016 The Province of Yorkshire West Riding is organising a sponsored walk in what many consider the most beautiful part of our Province, The Yorkshire Three Peaks. The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a very well known 24 mile perambulation of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. The support for the walk is minimal and hikers are expected to be self-sufficent throughout the day. This date was chosen as it is outside any of the Bank Holidays and at a time of year when the hours of daylight are long. Hikers are expected to have good equipment, be physically fit and able to endure inclement weather, should this arise. A usual time to complete this challenge is 10 hours, with the aim to finish it before 12 hours. In fact 8 hours is considered a fast time.
The event is open to anyone. Freemasons, their partners, family and friends are all welcome to join us on the walk. There is an entry fee of £10 per person which goes towards the cost of running the event. All monies raised will go towards the RMBI 2017 Festival.
